Thought it might be useful to share this with all of you. I learnt this from a vet today.
Vets, being people of science, normally prefer to adhere to research-tested medicines. However, currently, there is a whole industry of "miracle drugs", for humans as well as animals and it is practically revolutionising the whole world of medicine.
These miracle drugs are usually founded upon testimonies from users and not properly-conducted research.
Having said that, it does not mean that these miracle drugs do not work. They certainly work on some cases. Even research-tested drugs also only work on some cases and not all.
There is nothing to lose if one is game to try them, but one must be aware of whether it is the drugs that are causing the healing or could it be just the natural healing of the body?
Apparently, biology can change. Nerves can heal over time. I should know. I've had nerve problems which healed on their own over time, with no medication.
The vet said he has seen many paralysed animals walk again, with no "wonder drug" or wonder procedures being administered. The body just heals over time.
Biology can change....
Now, that's food for thought, isn't it?
Disclaimer: The above are just my thoughts on what I have understood from a casual conversation with a vet today.
