This is an urgent request from Azimah (azeema@isis.org.my). She is doing her best to save some dogs and she needs help.
I’m Azimah. Like many other animal sympathizer / rescuer I have non ending stories of abandoned dogs in my area which I’ve been trying to rehome without success. Eventually most of them end up dead upon being “rescued” by the MPS after complaints lodged by neighbour/neighours. I stay in Rawang.
I was advised to contact you in case you are able to help. I’ve been trying to rescue some mums with her puppies for sometime. By now there’s only one mum dog with 2 pups. I downloaded the mum & babies photos sometime in December 2010. The pups were still very young then. Now all are gone except for for them. The 3 of them are taking refuge under a makeshift container about 100 meters from my house near some makan shops & a mosque. I leave food everynight for them tho sometime other wild, strays & recently abandoned dogs do come around for food too. Initially I used to leave food near the dogs but it was attracting too much attention as it is in the middle of everything! Once they’ve eaten, they will all go under the makeshift container to rest, I think. One side of the container have been closed so they have dug ( I think) an entrance from another side which I don’t think would be for long. I feel sorry for them as they have no other place to go. I recently came across some online conversation while on FB & one of them said she has occasionally sedate the doggies so they could be rescued. I’m wondering if this could be done to save them? Even if this can be done, I’ve to no place to take them. Could you please at least advise me on what is best for me to do, if possible rescue them as the place I leave in is not at all a safe place for them. Many of those doggies I’ve been feeding have been caught except for one Fren Dawg with the help of a friend but unfortunately she’s unable to help the rest. Can’t blame her, the shelters as we know are all overcrowded. Thank you so much Dr Chan. Would really appreciate your advise. God bless
I have sourced for a place that can take in the dogs, but what we need now are rescuers who are skilled in catching the dogs.
If any rescuer out there can help, please contact Azimah directly at her email given above.
Let's help these dogs have a second chance at life before the MPS catches them.
