Ginger is an elderly cat, rescued by Alex from the street in her neighbourhood. Currently, Ginger is being treated for mange (which looked real bad three weeks ago). Ginger was also skin-and-bones when first brought in, which suggests more underlying problems, but Alex would like to do everything reasonably possible to give Ginger a comfortable life. Alex has adopted Ginger, and we are helping with the costs of the medical treatment. Ginger is also long-haired, which suggests she could have been an abandoned pet or had got lost. She is very friendly towards humans.

Updates from Alex:
Hello Dr Chan!
A brief update on Ginger. She is doing very well right now. I had opt to not confine her as I feel that is not good for cats, but I had been monitoring her activities, habits and food/water intake just to make sure. Her diarrhea had improved quite a bit from earlier this week, they look more solid now although still smells like none other! I had been feeding her a strict diet of Blackwood kibbles (so difficult to find!) with a steamed fish (debone) for dinner. (she loves them both :D ) She still uses my neighbor's front yard as her litter ground, although I had prepared for her a litter box, I guess stray cat habits are difficult to change, but at least I know where she poops so i can go pick it up. She only leaves the house to poo/pee and normally will return once she's done.
I had been keeping a note on the amount of water she drinks a day as well as her intake of food. (though I did not measure the food) Will present it to Dr Vijay next week. And I think I can give the carrier back to you next week lol, as Ginger had not went back into the carrier ever since that day when she diarrhea-ed in it. (traumatized?) I made a bed for her with some cardboard box and she is now sleeping under my dad's car. I had been trying a lot of different tactics to get her back into the carrier, but to no success. Ginger is a stubborn little kitty!
I also found out that she likes durian! Or maybe just the smell of it? I had some durian yesterday evening and when I went to check on Ginger, she keep rubbing her face and head all over my hand, purring too! (her purrs are quite silent, can only feel the vibration haha)
I will continue to monitor her. :) But at least now I feel more relieved that she is doing much better.
Thank you! Alex
