Krystal finally managed to enlist help from two students from Taylor's who offered their pick-up to take the emaciated dog (now named Amber) to our panel vet for a check-up today.

Amber arrived in a big cage.

Look at that....the poor thing.  It already looks "eaten-up".

One look at it and our vet said it's TVT, and it's a pretty bad one, too.

Lean Ee and I were both there to meet Amber.
That's Lean Ee patting Amber.  Amber is so friendly.  Appears to be perhaps a lost or abandoned pet or a dog who has had positive encounters with humans.

She's very pretty too, though quite emaciated.

There's our vet examining Amber.
Amber is very pale, says the vet.

The prognosis is that Amber has TVT.  The treatment is, as usual, the chemotherapy injections, given every week.  Looking at the severity of the growth now (it is dripping fluids and looks "eaten-up"), the vet says she might need up to 8 injections.

A blood test would be the correct thing to do to determine if Amber is fit enough to be given the TVT jabs, but what if she is not?  If we don't treat the TVT, the disease is already killing her and will definitely kill her, eventually.

So, we will forgo the blood test, but instead perk her up with nutritious food for one week before embarking on the first TVT jab.  This seems to be a better and wiser option.  We do not know if her body could take the jab, but with better nutrition for one week, the chances that her body can take the jabs positively will increase.

Krystal has been advised to feed Amber with iron-rich foods like liver.  Apparently, Amber does not eat kibbles, so it's best to feed her with "real" food like chicken.

One week of really good food, and we shall see Amber again should Krystal decide to go ahead with the chemotherapy treatment.

Krystal has also requested for the following help:

1.  A fosterer for Amber during the duration of the treatment.
2.  Transport to take Amber from Ara Damansara to SS17 Subang Jaya for the treatment.

If you can help with the above, please contact Krystal directly on 016-2292625.

We are helping with the cost of the TVT treatment with our funds.
