Updates: I have just been informed that this spaying has been postponed because just prior to it, the kitten had diarhoea.
Nor Suhaida, a worker at FRIM, wrote to me last week, requesting help for a female kitten, estimated to be about 6 months of age, who was thrown in front of her house.
Suhaida would love to adopt the kitten but was worried that she (the kitten) would eventually breed and she won't have the financial resources to look after so many!
With the help of her colleague, fellow animal-lover, Yuen Foon, the kitten was brought to our panel vet for spaying yesterday, under our sponsorship.
The vet checked thoroughly to ensure that the kitten was not already pregnant as the belly was bloated. It was actually "wind". The kitten also has a lot of fleas so Frontline was recommended.
The kitten will be boarded (boarding costs borne by Suhaida herself) until full recovery. The spaying is sponsored fully from our funds.
Have a happy life with Suhaida, little kitty!
AnimalCare extends its help, particularly to "smalltime" rescuers like Suhaida who need financial assistance. "Smalltime" as in adopting perhaps, just a few cats (not 20-30!), but it takes a BIG heart to do it.
Ultimately, it isn't about numbers.
It is never about numbers.
It's all about doing what one can do, from the heart with lots of love, within one's resources.
And that's REALLY good enough!
