Meet Peanut!

Despite his name, at 35.5cm in length Peanut is actually the largest tortoise at the AWRC. Hes a fully-grown red-footed tortoise- a species native to South America- rescued just over 4 months ago. So, why the name? Well, we think his shell is shaped a bit like a peanut!
Peanut loves to sit in his water dish for most of the day, and we are looking forward to letting him explore his new 5 x 10m enclosure once its ready.
