Kathina At The SJBA Thank You!

Kathina Eve – The crowd was quite small due to the pouring rain…

I set up the stall at 5.30pm and soon, I was joined by Hillary Kon (she will be climbing Mt Kinabalu to raise funds for us!), CP and her son, Jen Kin.

The key chains sold very well and we told many visitors about the benefits of using the soap and toothpaste, the most important being the fact that these products are not tested on animals. Our society may not be very aware of the amount of cruelty that goes on in laboratories but the education must start…somewhere and somehow. And yes, chemical products are much cheaper, but think of the cruelty that has gone on in the production of those products and how many innocent rabbits, guinea pigs, monkeys, dogs, cats, etc. have suffered because of it.

The all-time favourite – our fully combed cotton tshirts.

The free books.

Kathina Day – The crowd was smaller than usual because of several Buddhist events being held concurrently this weekend, but it was still a good crowd.

I set up the stall at 6.30am.

All ready…

Gosh…isn’t she cute? That’s our Equation tshirt. It carries the message of the oneness of all living beings and living things on earth.

The crowd came in droves, so it was busy, busy, busy…

Our volunteers today: CP, Mary, Carol, Winnie and me.

Our guest of honour, ardent supporter and the one who refurbished Pak Din’s hut – Connie James.

Connie came to collect the toothpaste and soap order she had made with Tabs!

We wish to convey our heartfelt thanks to everyone who dropped by our booth today to support the work we do.

Thank you so much!
