I know many of you are very concerned about Amber so this update is necessary.
Krystal and her husband, Simon, collected the cage yesterday evening and will send Amber to the vet's this evening, if they can make it after work. With the unpredictable after-work traffic jams, this could prove to be a mean task.
The TVT medication has arrived (most vets don't keep stock) and everything is ready for Amber now.
My concern is that Amber is a street dog who may have underlying health problems so we do not know if her body can take the medication, but I am a little encouraged by the fact that though emaciated, she is active, friendly and is eating well. Krystal has been pumping Amber up with good food ever since the visit to our vet.
Our panel vet says he has seen (and treated) many cases of severe TVT and they heal beautifully. On our side, we have done Sweetie and Tara. Both healed beautifully but none was as severe as Amber's (at least in looks!).
If we don't start treatment, the TVT will kill her gradually, so we have to take the risk and do it in an attempt to save her life.
