Jas The Monitor Lizard

A rescue story with a happy ending to end the week with: Jas the monitor lizard.

Fishing hooks are not only harmful to fish. They can also cause a lot of damage and suffering to other wild animals. We were recently called on to rescue a young monitor lizard, found with a fishing hook painfully lodged deep inside his throat. Poor Jas, as we named him, required surgery to remove the hook.

Thankfully, Jas has recovered well under the care of the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre team, and has now been released back to the wild!
