Yesterday was our Pre-Wesak tshirt sale in the Bandar Utama Buddhist Society. Even before my talk started, a little girl and her mom came up to me and introduced themselves. According to mom, Yi Lin (the little girl) loves reading my books and because of what she has read, they have now adopted a stray cat. Yi Lin was clutching Pawprints and Rainbow Bridge and asked me to autograph her books. She has not read Indy Jones.
So I got a friend to get a copy of Indy Jones and I presented Yi Lin with the book and told the whole congregation how she and her mom have now adopted a stray cat.
After the talk, groups of other little children came clutching copies of my books. They too wanted their books to be autographed. And while signing their books, they talked to me and told me what they had learnt from the books. Some of the children even insisted on giving donations to AnimalCare.
Aren't these the sweetest children EVER. They make angels in small sizes too.
Later, Mary, Nandhini and I took our tshirt stocks down to the basement to set up the booth for Wesak. Nandhini and her aunty will be manning this booth.
Then, BUBS members came by and they donated for 32 tshirts in a record time of, maybe, 30 minutes or so.
BUBS members have always been very supportive of our work and I'd like to express my deepest appreciation to the members and their EXCO for allowing us to open a booth there this Wesak.
And, to the children too!
P.S. We were so busy handling the tshirts there was no time to take any photos!
