This is Thong Phoom, one of the forgotten 100 dogs at Thong Pha Phum shelter, rescued from dog meat traders. These 100 are the only dogs that remain alive of the nearly 2,000 rescued from a smuggler’s holding center near Baan Thareua in January of this year and sent originally to the Buriram livestock facility initially.

Tong Phoom was rescued by Soi Dog last weekend and taken to a private clinic in Bangkok where his right back leg was amputated earlier this week to save his life. Efforts will be made to rehome him in Bangkok. If this fails he will be transferred to Soi Dog’s shelter in Phuket.
