Azimah, on her own initiative, has been working very hard to round up a pack of dogs in Rawang as the local council has been, unfortunately, very "active" in capturing (and hence, euthanising) stray dogs in that area.
We publicised Azimah's appeal for help in catching the dogs sometime ago, but so far, only one rescuer has responded and they are both working on this first step now - to catch the dogs. Azimah says she has also enlisted the help of the SPCA.
We have pledged to help Azimah spay-neuter all the dogs once they have been caught if Azimah can send them to our panel vets or use the services of Klinik Kembiri.
If you are able to extend some assistance to Azimah in her efforts to help these dogs, please contact her directly at azeema@isis.org.my
Azimah has been working very hard, practically round the clock, keeping me updated on the progress, but it is very challenging trying to round up a pack of strays (please take a look at the photos below).
If you are a rescuer and would like to help her, please contact her as soon as possible. She needs help.
The dogs need help. Let's help them before they are captured by the local council and put down.
Here are some photos sent by Koo, the only person who is helping Azimah now.
Updates from Koo, this morning:
Koo's contact no is 016 - 6969 272.
The rescue attempt is scheduled today (Saturday, 21 May 2011) from 9-10am.
The place is at Taman Tun Perak, Rawang (Use Google map to find this place). If coming from KL, the landmark to watch out for is the Petronas petrol station (not shown on google map) at the traffic light junction on the main trunk road. Turn left on the junction to reach Taman Tun Perak (follow the Google map to another left turning). Any visitors have to sign in at the guardhouse (just say visiting the RA office) and the container cum RA office is about 100 metres down the road from the guardhouse. It's next to a few food stalls and near a surau.
I'm now in early preparation to travel there. Koo
If you can provide useful help, please contact Koo as soon as possible.
