Hi Kah Yein,

I hope you can assist.

My new Indian neighbor has abandoned their dog by locking out the dog today. Now he’s wandering at the back lane, hoping he can go home. I am not sure of his age. He already has white moustache and I presume he’s around 6-7 years. It’s a mixed, male, black color. He hasn’t been bathed for sometime, as seen from the ticks on his body. It’s such a pity sight. Except for feeding him, he is quite aggressive when we want to touch him for cleaning etc. It could be he has been neglected or abused somewhere else before my neighbor shifted here.

I think he can be tamed but I have never experienced how so I hope there is a kind shelter or soul out there who is willing to accept him especially him being an old dog. He’s quite lovable and has big eyes.

Hope you can help.

I can be contacted via my email.

Thanks & regards,
KK

Further communication:

Dear Kah Yein,
Here are some photos of the dog. The first few photos were taken on Friday when he was outside the backlane (when we were feeding him)and sitting at his “house”. He was waiting to go inside but the door was locked up. Yes, he is one faithful dog. And the last photo was taken inside my backyard this morning. Yes, we finally lured him into my house.
Yesterday, we couldn’t sleep well, thinking how he was faring outside. He was practically sleeping under the pavement, near thedrain and it was raining heavily last night. We justcouldn’t believe how we could have luredhim in this morning. But it was just a beginning forus. We saw so many ticks on his body that we feel like fainting. Considering we have no experience handling stray dogs before and what more a “quite” agressive one as well. This afternoon, I asked a friend to help out to bathe him but he growled and bit my friend lightly. It was just a scratch but there was blood oozing. Surprisingly, he let me cleaned him while I was fearing to death. (I think he could have been abused etc before) He didn’t move an inch and I was cleaning & drenching his body with tick-filled water instead of bathing. I hope this willkill his ticks.
The last photo was after cleaning him. (He looks kinda tired after cleaning & being in a new environment…..He still misses his “owner” as he always looks at his “house”)
We also want to send him to the vet and make sure he’s safe. I cannot imagine how we are going to do this…..but I believewe can do it !
We really hope he can have the best. We are planning to foster him first and see whether there is any kind soul out there who is willing to adopt him.
Hope you can blog for me.
Thanks & regards,
KK
