The Home-Made cat Public Toilet
Tweet |
Much has been said about people complaining that cats poo in their gardens. In fact, according to a recent chat with a councilor, the most frequent complaints about community cats is that (1) they sit atop cars, and (2) they defecate in people’s gardens.
My friend looks after community cats and she and her husband have fashioned a “cat public toilet” inside their garbage compartment. For those of us who feed community cats, this seems to be an excellent idea.
Take a look…
I used the empty place below my post-box for the cats to use as public
toilet. Place bricks to block the sand from flowing out (this space is
about 2 ft x 1.5 ft). Pour in sand (you may buy the sand from any
hardware shops) and mix with some soil. I planted some roselle plants
next to it for shades.
DiDi was the first to use this public toilet, followed by MiMi and
Manja. There is no smell and it’s easy to clear the poo. My hubby scoops
up the poos once every few days and loosens up the sand/soil to make it
easy for them to dig.
Shh…cat using public toilet.
I’m done. Scratch, scratch, scratch!
The evidence has been covered-up!
I’m off now…
Mummy even has a pine tree here for me to scratch after doing my business.
