Some Measures To Reduce Fraud
Tweet |
In view of this:http://myanimalcare.org/2012/10/09/human-dishonesty-is-also-infinite/, we need to revise some of our procedures as an added caution to reduce the incidence of fraud and dishonesty. This is because it is our responsibility to protect our funds and ensure that the money is channeled to truly needy caregivers and not those who are out to make a profit from the animals.
Here are some reminders and some changes:
1. We will not entertain third party claims. This means, the applicant himself or herself has to apply for the funds, not through a third party.
2. The receipt and bank account number must be in the applicant’s name. If for any reason the bank account is in another person’s name (for eg, a joint account), kindly write in and advise us. Since you are requesting a receipt from the vet, please ask the vet to write it in your name.
We WANT very much to help rescuers and caregivers, but we also need to protect ourselves from being victims of fraud and dishonesty.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
