The SS19/1 Community Carnival

I’ve lived in SS19/1 for 23 years and it is always nice to get back there and meet up with old friends.Today was the SS19/1 Community Carnival and we were invited by the committee to open a booth.
CP, Mary and I set up the booth at about 8.15am. Most of the booths were already up by then.
Guess we are all earlybirds!
As luck would have it, we managed to shift to the sitting area and so, we had a whole tent to ourselves.
This is Mr Rajiv, a councilor in the MPSJ. We discussed if it would be possible for MPSJ to spare the ear-notched animals from being captured. More on this in a later post (important stuff!).
This is my brother and his family, back on a visit from Perth.
My mum.
Winnie and Nandhini arrived shortly.
A resident who probably bought our black tshirt last year!
CP met some old friends.
This is Maureen. Maureen, Khadijah and Sharizad are doing CNRM for the SS19 cats now and we are providing the subsidies.
Education for the young – that’s our hope for the future.
Peggy Tiong dropped in to purchase 8 tshirts for her family and friends! She also passed us her pledged donation for Mdm Hoo’s dogs. Thank you very much, Peggy.
One of our blog readers.
Deva, one of my former neighbours. She just adopted a female kitten from the Subang Jaya market (from Ah Fatt) and I’m telling her all about the importance of getting the cat (now 6 months old) spayed.
My husband and children dropped in to join in the fun.
En Mat Nor chatting with Cathy Thong. Cathy dropped in and was a great help. En Mat Nor has 13 cats – that’s from one unspayed female who gave birth to several batches of kittens (total: 12). That’s how he ended up with 13 pet-cats now, but all have since been neutered.
We had a fun time today. Many thanks to the organisers for inviting us and thank you to everyone who dropped in to support our work. And of course, to our volunteers for the day – Mary, CP, Winnie, Nandhini and Cathy (in mufti!).
