Massive Dog-Catching Projects Going On (please Protect Your Community Dogs)

A reader has written to me privately to inform me that many of the stray dogs that she and her friends feed in a certain part of the Klang Valley have “disappeared”. Apparently, private dog-catching companies have been employed to capture dogs on a massive scale, not only in the Klang Valley but in Pahang as well. Soon, it might be endemic in the whole country.

For those of you who are feeding and looking after community dogs, please be forewarned and do the needful to protect your dogs, as far as you possibly can.

For others who are not, but feel a need to do something to safeguard there innocent dogs, here are some things you can do:

1. Offer to adopt a dog or two.

2. Help find homes for these dogs.

3. Speak up against these dog-catching projects.

Write to the media, speak to your local councilors, etc. Make your voice heard.

On our part, we can offer neutering subsidies for these dogs as a long-term solution to control the stray population. We will publicise whatever other help is needed and hope for constructive effort from everyone.

One collective voice – for the animals. Let’s do our parts.
