So, from Ming-Yi's convocation, I rushed off to the vet's. There was a delay, so I had to ask Lean Ee and Mary to stand-in for me just in case I could not make it on time.
But I made it....
This brown female dog is the elder sister (first generation of puppies) to yesterday's Winnie Pup. Apparently, their mother had also been caught this morning and has been taken to safety now and Winnie has been reunited with her mum! Winnie is only 2-3 weeks old and still needs her mum. We have pledged to get the mum spayed once Winnie has weaned off milk.
These are 3 of the heroes - Baradhi, Puspa and Karthika (I hope I got the spellings right). They are part of the 7 rescuers who had come from Kajang to help Azimah. They have now successfully captured three dogs and brought them to safety.
The dog has mange but is otherwise fine. Her circulation is very good and she has extremely good and clean teeth for a stray!
That's Lean Ee patting the dog as she was a little scared.
She's very friendly and did not need the muzzle at all.
The vet administered the Ivermectin jab but not before explaining all the risks involved in the jab, especially for a stray with no prior medical or health history. The next 24 hours is going to be critical and should there be any vomiting or seizures, Puspa would have to bring her to the nearest vet for fluids (put on drips).
The dog also has lacerations on her front paw pads. Iodine has been prescribed for this.
Puspa was advised to rub oil on the mangy skin.
Today's treatment was sponsored by Puspa - thank you so much.
Thank you, Puspa, Baradhi, Karthika and the rest of the rescuers who had toiled through the nights to capture Winnie, Winnie's sister and Winnie's mother.
