Cutie Pet Fair Day 1

We reached at about 8.45am this morning and there was hardly any parking left. Looks like everyone (especially the traders) were early birds.

This year, the NGOs are not put together but scattered all over the park, so we were located in a new place.

Winnie, Chun Eng and me.

The crowd was quite thin throughout the day. It is probably due to it being the Mooncake festival weekend.

A loyal tshirt fan!

Our booth was “facing east” (which is probably good feng shui!) but today was scorching HOT and we were “baked” for half a day. My face and neck are so red now, you can call me Little Hiawatha, if you like. It was really hot and the ice-cream stalls were doing great business.

See, it IS hot, isn’t it?

One of our blog readers came over to visit us.

I saw many doggies reminiscent of good old Bobby!

Oh wow! Don’t they look nice? Thank you for wearing our tshirts and promoting our cause!

More Bobby-like doggies.

Since the crowd was quite thin, Chun Eng brought over a part-time mascot. It’s a little doggie from Second Chance. They (Chun Eng and Doggie) met at the Le Viva Fair a few weeks ago, and a special bond was formed. Doggie was up for adoption then and still is now. She’s awfully well-behaved and is a total cutie. Winnie and Chun Eng had a great time fussing over “Boobee” (that’s what Chun Eng named her).

Boobee, after eating a whole tub of delicious wetfood. Nap time!!

She certainly had a great nap!

Wakey ,wakey to tea time!

Boobee making friends.

We managed to talk to many visitors and told them about what we do. Many were delighted to know that we provide medical subsidies for street animals. Our books went like hot cakes and tshirt sales was good too.

Tomorrow will be Day Two, and meanwhile, I need to cool myself down…!

Signed,
Little (red-faced) Hiawatha
