Our updates on funding:

1st dog: We are jointly subsidising this case with PetFinder.my. Two of our readers have donated an additional RM800 for this case. Together with this RM800, PetFinder.my and we will top it up to a maximum of 75% subject to our respective maximum of RM500 per fund.

2nd dog: We are also jointly subsidising this case with PetFinder.my. MDDB has donated an additional RM500 to this case. Our % funding will depend on the final bill.

Updates from Mei Kueen:

Dear Dr Chan,

I am very sorry for the late updates. Firstly the 1st accident dog, Ah Gor’s wound� is improving but the other leg is swollen so the vet suggest�to put a cast on the leg as the x-ray shows there is a small fracture. They will put a cast for 2 weeks and if the fracture doesn’t improve�then a surgery is needed. As both legs that are affected is the hind legs, therefore they have to do it one by one.

As for the 2nd injured dog, we will be transferring to another vet . The reason is the current vet has no experience�in doing the aluminium body cast (wrapping the dog in an aluminium sheet). They are just trying it for the first time. I had checked with the vet we are transferring to and he had done this body cast and the leg surgery�before. To avoid taking the risks, we decided to send to this vet even though it is quite far for us. He is currently having another
dog at his place� with a quite similar case and his rate is cheaper. The current vet estimates the cost for body cast is rm300 + and the surgery�around rm1100.00. I had checked with the second vet and he estimates the body cast around rm150 and surgery around rm850.There�might be a price difference as the second vet just quote me by looking at the x-ray and pics.
