Party For A Good Cause

Madam Kwok Lai Yong and her family from Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur are all dog lovers, so when they hold a gathering for friends and relatives, it is to help the doggies . On 15th Sept 2012,  Madam Kwok invited many  relatives and friends,  some were from Singapore, to attend a gathering in her big house,
Her eldest daughter, Ruby Leong designed and made a poster and printed some leaflets to convince the invited guests that doggies in shelters need help. 

Madam Kwok’s eldest daughter prepared the leaflet with the following 2 messages: “Help the shelter dogs, be a HERO, donate today!”  and  ” Maybe saving a dog does not change the world, but for the dog, the world changes!”. Thank you Ruby, we hope there are more young people like you, not only just passionate about dogs but Do Something for them too!

The guests were served food from the “Lok Lok” van serving boiled vegetables/meat and  barbecued meat, with plenty of beer and drinks to go with it. After that, they were given a briefing on the plight of the strays and rescued dogs in Malaysia, and that we should  show kindness to help them. The guests were very impressed by Madam Kwok’s love and concern for dogs, no one can resist the urge to be charitable that night, and they all donated generously.

So the family collected a total of RM4,200 that night!! This amount  has already been forwarded to Second Chance shelter in Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur. Thanks so much to Madam Kwok and her family who promised to always hold a gathering , not only to eat and drink but also to donate to a good charitable cause, in her case, will be for the sheltered dogs in Second Chance!!

Second Chance

Second Chance is a group of like-minded animal lovers who met through the Internet when they read of Aunty Kiew's plight.

They do their very best to render help whenever time permits and within their limited capacities. They hope to find good homes for as many homeless animals as possible. Currently, there are 100+ animals rescued and fostered by this group.
