Hi Dr Chan,
I am writing to request for help of rehoming a pet that we love a lot.
You probably ask if we love the pet a lot, why then do we need to
rehome.
It all started with a robbery by the infamous Indian Myvi Parang gang
that happened to my family and I right at the gate of our house at
Taman SEA on Aug 12.
After the incident, we take a good hard look at the statistics of the
area, a student was slashed in front of our house 2-3 yrs ago. There
was a carjack less then 2 yrs ago. There was 4 cases of robbery by
this myvi parang gang over 3 weeks b4 raya over 7 housing streets.
Situation is not getting safer and we can’t effectively make it a
gated area because it has too many opening and the community is not
united. So, for our own safety, we have to make the difficult choice
of moving to highrise.
But we have a pet, a rottweiller, who is now 9+ years old, male, not
spayed, that we love but we can’t keep in high rise. We have tried
very hard to house him with us. My hubby and nephew even created a
grass patch at the back for him to pee and poop. But he can’t. He was
miserable in that 50-60 hours. He didn’t poop at all for 50ish hrs.
Only peed 4x.
This is the picture of him.

We have no choice but to foster him at a friend’s place. But that can
only be temporary solution as that is a bachelor house, all of them
work full time. They leave home at 7+ in the morning and only back
about 8-9pm. He is very use to having people companion at home. He was
kept inside the house and therefore very attached. Now, he is lonely,
“cries” and knocks on the back door a lot to get attention even though
there is no one home. We are worried that neighbour may not like it. I
am looking for a suitable adopter, someone who understand dog’s
language, can “talk” to him, love him, have companion and to live
happy till he departs.
I would like to seek your help through your network to rehome him. Is
that possible?
Thanks & regards,
Joanne
