Ms Jackie recovered from her badly swollen eye and was adopted, but sadly, she passed away shortly after that. We have subsidised RM76.50 for her last treatment.
Here is the story, from Rozita:
Hi Dr Chan
Still remember Ms Jackie? This photo was taken a day before she being discharged from the clinic. Her eyes is getting better. She looks healthy, playful and affectionate.
The day she was discharged (16 Aug 2012), I straightaway sent her to her new mummy at old klang road. Her new mummy is my schoolmate that I have known for almost 30 years. She already have 2 babies (cats) at home and this is an additional family member. They are so happy to have Ms Jackie into their home. I have passed all the medications that was given by the clinic together with Ms Jackie’s kibbles and can wetfood. There are 3 types of pills for Ms Jackie to take. The cost of medications plus hospitalisation is around RM200 ++. I still owed the clinic RM129 which I planned to pay off end of this month. The original receipt with the breakdown is still with the clinic. They would only pass me the receipt once I make full payment.
On the 18 Aug 2012, her new mummy frantically calling me during day time, many times, that was a day before Hariraya. I have no idea why I didn’t get the calls. Only after 8pm, a stream of missed call messages came in to my mobile. I was surprised to see 28 missed call from Ms Jackie’s new mummy. I returned her call immediately and was informed that Ms Jackie being hospitalised at her vet. She told me that Ms Jackie was fine after I left and the next day till she gave Ms Jackie the medication as instructed by my vet. Not long after the medication, Ms Jackie vomitted and her body temperature suddenly became high. That was when she brought Ms Jackie to her vet. The reason she called me because her vet wanted to speak to my vet to ask further about the treatment and medications that was being given to Ms Jackie. By then, when I called, her new mummy told me that Ms Jackie being hospitalised and to visit her the next day, which is 1st day hariraya.
However, sadly at about 11pm on the same day, her new mummy called me as her vet told her that Ms Jackie has left us. I was speechless and only tears that do the talking..even when am writing this email, I still feel so sad about Ms Jackie. Her new mummy collected Ms Jackie’s body on the first day Hariraya at 11am and buried her at her home. The impact of Ms Jackie’s sudden departure is quite bad on me and am still in the recovering process of accepting the facts that now she is happy in heaven. At times, I blaming myself that if I didn’t take her from her stray life, probably she is still alive, jumping here and there at my office area eventhough her eyes is swollen. My only regrets was that I didn’t manage to take a photo with her the day I gave her to her new mummy because my mobile camera suddenly cannot be used anymore. I still remember how she put her head on my chest and looking at me when I hold her for the last time during the handover.
With the demise of Ms Jackie, am not sure whether am I still able to claim for subsidy for Ms Jackie’s latest bill as I mentioned in my 1st paragraph. If I still able to claim, please let me know and I would do the necessary.
Ms Jackie, I always love you and you always have a special place in my heart.
I attached herewith her photo the day I found her with her swollen eyes and a day before she being discharged whereby you can see that the swollen has subside and we can see her eye.
The vet said her eye is fine and she was healthy. The swollen was due to some sinus problem (forgot the medical terms) that infected her eyelids and became swollen.
thank you
rozie
Of course we still subsidised Ms Jackie’s medical treatment as that was aimed at saving her life and making her well. Sometimes the Universe has a bigger plan for all of us and that is beyond our control. As long as everything we do is done with good intentions, we can only do our best, leave the rest and hope for the best. May Ms Jackie be in a happier place now.
