1. The councilor whom I wrote to replied on 17th July and said he had directed my appeal to another councilor who is in-charge of that specific zone. I am waiting to hear from the second councilor. Our appeal was to spare the lives of the remaining Indah Water dogs, ie. not to capture them as they pose no threat or disturbance to anyone since they live inside the Indah Water facility.

2. Ah Fatt drove to Puchong to look for the pound to retrieve the mother-dogs and their puppies on 13th July. Unfortunately, he could not find the pound. I had sourced help from PAWS to receive the dog-families on that day and PAWS was all ready. However, Ah Fatt could not find the pound despite the directions I had obtained from the internet and despite spending almost 2 hours asking for directions from people in Puchong. Nobody seemed to know where the pound is located. By that evening and on the next day, I had already obtained more specific directions to the pound for Ah Fatt from people who have been there. But Ah Fatt has not been able to get to the pound yet. We are afraid it may be far too late to save the dog-families now since it has been more than 2 weeks.

There is always the good intention to save and rescue but sometimes this cannot be carried out due to many constraints – failure to find the location, how to catch the animals, where to put the animals, how to rehome them, funds for their treatment, etc.

On our part, once pledged, we will provide the funds and that is the only thing we can guarantee. As for the rest of the constraints, we can only source for help.

This is the reality of the situation. It takes all parties to work together for any rescue work to be successful.

I believe the hardest task is (1) to catch them and (2) to find them a permanent place to live out their natural lives safely. That is why for every stray animal that anyone can get a hold of, please get them neutered and stop the breeding.
