Dear DR.Chan,
Fang passed away this morning at 5.10a.m and I was beside him when he took his last breath.
He’s totally fine last night .. This morning as we are preparing for our sahur, I saw his lying on the floor in a very peculiar way… he’s lying down in his side but he tilt his head to his left that makes his face upwards .He never did this before, and he just lying down not moving or mewing and blinking ..I called his name, no response… Then I saw mucus running out from his nose, as I wipe it, he gives the loudest ‘ like sore throat” mew…I told him to get up, no response,…He’s paralyzed, couldn’t even lift up his head so I put him back to his basket…
My mum already cried seeing this because when my mum was awake at 10pm , he seems fine…Then my mum , put Fang’s towels on on our bamboo carpet to give him more space.
I gave honey to him , he licked them … When my mum went to the kitchen , He gasped a deep air, and I run to my mum saying that this is his time…I ran back to him , I said “it’s okay , if it’s better for you to go “, I recited AL-Fatihah and prayed that he will have an easy death, and yes he did… A few gasping of air, and a very mild muscle spasm and twitching ~ he’s in peace…
R.I.P Fang 29.3.2012 – 17.7.2012
p/s : he’s a gift to us and also a blessing to have him. even though it’s just for a short period, we are happy when he’s around and of course a bit sad from the moment he’s sick- blind – and now R.I.P , but we are redha..
we have adopted a kitten from Pasar Benta, Raub last week. She’s the only one Fang can tolerate with.We have tried with my grandmother’s kitten but failed.( We just wanted a companion for him so he won’t be lonely when we are not at home). She’s a bit hunch and MUTE..We only noticed that she’s mute when we bring her home. At first we saw her playing alone at the market site,we played with her a bit manja and , as we are moving out to the outer market spot buying onions ,my mum couldn’t forget her..So I said lets go back and find her if she’s for us she’ll be there.. as we moving back to the market , we saw her.The distance between her first spot and where we found her is far. So we bring her back and Fang accepted her.. Regardless her deformities, and a stray, she’s litter trained.. She even used the litter sand from the very first day..Such a sweetie… People do laugh when I told them that the second one is also a handicap .. We are joking about this saying the 3rd should be deaf..They said that it’s kinda unfortunate, because for the second time we pick a mute kitten ( totally mute, but she tried her best to mew ,sadly it’s only sound like “heh heh” .only can hear it if she’s close to you .) we didn’t agree because up to now, both late Fang and sweet baby Manis never have an accident “peeing and poo” outside the litter box, scratching our furnitures and the blinds. To us this is already blessings in disguise…. Both cat chooses us…
To Fang my dearest, I hope that you are happy staying with us.No one can ever replaced you, and you have a very special place in our heart…

In loving memory of Fang

Fang and Manis

Dear Nurul,

We all share your loss deeply as we too have followed Fang’s progress and ups and downs ever since he first came to you. Fang came into your life and your family’s to receive the love and care that he needed.

Everything happens for a reason and is meant to be. Our duty is to do the best we can and you and your family have certainly done this for Fang.

We hope you will take comfort in knowing that Fang had the best possible care from you and your family and he must have been very happy during his stay with all of you. When he was sick and when he became blind, you stayed by him and your family gave him the best possible medical care.

Life is made up of moments and Fang will go to his next destination now with happy and loving memories of the time shared with all of you, filled with so much love and caring.

We hope Manis will give you lots of happy moments just as Fang had.

Kind regards from all of us here.
