Being In A Cage Can Be fashionable Too.but Not For Cow!

Cow settled in for the night (thank goodness!) and we were both able to get some rest.
However, he simply hates the cage, and the e-collar, of course.
Yesterday, after I freed him from the cage, Bunny and Indy took turns to sleep inside the cage. Somehow, when something is not compulsorily enforced upon you, it becomes interesting and even….”inviting”.
Cow wasn’t interested in breakfast this morning, though. He just wanted to get out of the room. Rather than stress the poor guy out, I let him out under strict monitoring.
He made a bee-line for the litter tray and eased himself. Poor Cow, the paper litter just did not feel right to him and he had been holding back his bladder for the whole night. I’m glad he emptied his bladder this morning. We all know what it feels like to have to hold back one’s bladder, this is especially when he was given subcut fluids during the procedure to prevent dehydration. His bladder must have been very full.
Then, he kept going to the grass, and I had to carry him back to dry ground.
Finally, he sort of got the message and only stepped on the tiles, but he still wanted to be out of the room.
“I need some air, I need some air”, he seemed to be saying.
Finally he settled inside the rattan trunk and I’ll have to monitor him to make sure he does not migrate from here to the grass again. Supertabs is monitoring for now, but er…Supertabs is not very reliable.
Meanwhile, being caged has become the fashion of the day.
It is “cool” to be in a cage?
Yes, one could opt to be IN one or to be ON TOP of one, either way, it’s pretty cool.
But try telling that to Cow!
By the way, the wound looks “neat” this morning. The vet did say that such wounds heal fantastically fast. I hope he is right, because right now, we have no bandage and Cow insists on walking around, so we really need the wound to heal “fantastically fast”!
Updates at 6.00am:
I must take back my word on Supertabs’ reliability.
Our little “nurse” (that is what Dr Susanna calls her each time she comes because Tabs will inspect all her things and count the number of needles to be used, etc.) does take her work very seriously. Here, she has set up a little sentry post to monitor Cow’s movement and to ensure that the senior cat does not step onto the grass.
An underling is learning the ropes as well.
This seems to be Cow’s favourite position so that he gets to see what goes on in the pantry.
He didn’t want any food just now, but ate when handfed. Still, it was just small bits. Not that it is for the right reasons, though, but he could do with some weight loss, really. He is 6.3kg now.
The chief sentry is on maximum alert.
With two very reliable nurses on the job, perhaps I can take a rest.
Meanwhile, someone is sure enjoying his rest!
And making it fashionable too.
Hey Bunny, any chance of making it fashionable to wear the e-collar?
After all, you are the trend-setter, aren’t you?
