Acel (formerly Russell) is the Russian Blue rescued from Petknode on that fateful day many months ago. He was one of the three admitted at the clinic on that Sunday. Six were brought in, but only three admitted and they were in bad shape. All three went to Maslinda upon discharge. Callie, the one who was only skin and bones, passed on after several weeks, after a brave and courageous fight all the way. Ayap and Acel are still with Maslinda now, but Acel is unwell.
We are subsidising Acel’s medical treatment. Please keep Acel in your prayers.

attached are the pic of acel, the russian blue rescued from petknode. he was admitted on tuesday coz suspected to have kidney problem as he appears as classic kidney patient but no fever. and he was estimated to be 14 years old (last time he was estimated to be 10-11 years, which for my brood, above 10 years old will be called uncle or makcik). he was previously prescribed with amoxy for a week (at other vet) and the fever came down, better but then going downtrend with low on appetite
~ on wednesday his blood result came out for kidney and liver but it appears to be ok. he has ulcers at the back end of the tongue/mouth which explain his low appetite
~ continue on IV drip and his appetite is back after prescribed with the oral gel for ulcers
~ thursday, his CBC results came out and shows that he is anemic with very critical low count of PCV (packed cell volume).
~ due to his old age, he’s not a good candidate for blood transfusion
~ further tests done, he has the blood parasite problem (hemobart)
~ had slight diarrhoea, now on ID/no dry food
~ currently on doxy and baytril
~ treatment plan is to continue on the 2 antibiotics and praying that the PCV wont go further down
~ vet will do another blood test for PCV tomorrow and if it;s still going down, they’ll start with steroid treatment
