Connie shared these two pieces of news:

We pray it will come true, that Beacon may be accorded a reprieve.
But elsewhere….
A crocodile was killed and the bait was a white dog:http://www.nst.com.my/nation/general/killer-croc-2-lieutenants-killed-1.101634
If we choose to live in the jungle, then we are subject to the law of the jungle. Crocodiles will kill when hungry – stay away from them. Carnivorous animals kill to eat. But these humans are killing for revenge. What good does that do? An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. And the poor, poor innocent white dog had to be the sacrificial bait. Who is going to avenge the dog’s unfair death? What if the dog’s pack comes and avenges his death and kills one of the humans? When is the killing going to stop? This is why some human family feuds go on for centuries, and who benefits?
Revenge is foolish; it dwells in the minds of the weak.
The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. – Gandhi
What goes around, comes around. Killing doesn’t solve problems. In popular animal folklore, revenge, if depicted, will be carried out only by ferocious animals like crocodiles and snakes. Do humans also want to be in that category?
Some humans have a long, long way to becoming better people. They choose to live with revenge, greed, hatred and enmity, all of which are destructive habits that will keep them stuck in the quagmire of incivility. Gentle animals do not have such traits. They are more humane and civilised than these humans.
