Found this on the internet. I thought it might be something useful to share as plenty of people still use glue traps and small animals don’t know any better to keep away from them.
How to save a cat from a glue trap:
1. Check whether the cat is breathing. In a dehydrated and restrained state from the glue, it is important to check carefully by going closer to its nose.
2. If you can’t find flour, rush for sand. Scoop as much as you can, depending on how severe the situation is.
3. Spread the sand or flour on the affected area on the body and the floor. Rub the sand against the glue and move the the kitten slowly out from it.
4. Put the kitten in a box. Take Note: Please do not wrap kitten with plastic. If you have to do so, pour oil (cooking oil, baby oil) thoroughly on the affected area then rush to the vet.
5. Put the kitten in a basin and pour the Cooking Oil on it and soak him for 5 minutes. Slowly massage the kitten. Take Note: This may take more than one time and 1 day to complete depending how strong is the glue.
6. Use a soft brush to remove the sand and other particles. Use tissues to clean the basin and pour the oil again. Try to do at least 2 times.
7. Use warm water and tears free soap. Begam used Johnson & Johnson. Bath the kitten 2 to 3 times.
8. Wipe all the excess water and keep the kitten dry and warm. Take Note: Leave it if the fur looks oily. It will soften the unseen glue on its body. Let it rest and sleep. The next day, bath the kitten with tears free soap again to remove the excess oil.
