No one from JB responded to this case, but on that day itself, I contact Angie Ng from Batu Pahat, and since then, Angie has been in touch with Sok Khim.
Angie told Sok Khim to hang on and try to delay her mother from throwing the kittens away. These are orphaned kittens whose mother had died. Sok Khim’s mother would not allow her to bring the kittens to a vet either.
Last night, Angie’s friend, Lee Wei Tah, drove from Batu Pahat to Johor Baru (which is 180km away) to bring the kittens to Batu Pahat last night. But according to him, one of the kittens was already in a bad state. It is already a miracle that the kittens have survived 10 days without the mother.
Angie’s plan is to board the kittens at a vet first, and when old enough, Nyeow Miow Leng will take over and do the necessary, like neutering and rehoming.
Angie, Miow Leng and Wei Tah are all applicants to our fund and we thank them profusely for coming forward to help when we sent out this S.O.S.
Please keep the kittens in your prayers.
Cases like these remind us of the urgency to CNRM on a massive scale. There will always be such cases and there will always be humans who have no sympathy at all for street animals. This is the reality of the situation. While we work on inculcating compassion to animals, we must also work on reducing the population of street animals.
