Neuter Your Dogs, People!

Malaysian generally are very defensive when comes to neutering their dogs, they have so many excuses for not doing this great favor to our canine friends.

As a results, many unwanted puppies are born. When that happens, dog owners dispose their problems by throwing out the puppies from their homes, their factories, their farms etc. Some of these puppies are barely few weeks old and  still require their mother’s tender care, not to mention the nutritious milk that they so needed.

By so heartlessly abandoning these young puppies on the streets, they are literally left to die…and some Malaysian have no qualms of doing this evil deed to tiny puppies???

Few days ago,  two 4-week-old puppies were found inside a box along Kuchai Lama Road, Kuala Lumpur. There was a note that read “ Take me home” (an educated owner???).

I am not sure the heartless owner could stand a few minutes under hot Malaysian weather that could rise to 36C, but he would let the puppies suffer what he could not endure himself by placing them in the hot afternoon sun!

One kind young lady found the box and wasted no time to bring over to Second Chance’s shelter. These 2 puppies were found to be dehydrated and extremely hungry, obviously they were very disoriented too. Volunteers at the shelter naturally were very angry at this incident and swore obscene words that I have no intention of repeating here. With about 200 dogs and puppies at the shelter, the new arrival definitely would burden them further, not to mention more funds are needed to sustain the shelter. The problem will get worse and worse with so many irresponsible people in this country.

Why can these cruel people get away from it so easily? Why do dog lovers/rescuers have to be put through the ordeals of seeing these cruel acts on innocent canine friends and yet feel so helpless? What is wrong in this country?

Nonetheless, one volunteer had to take the puppies home to be fostered and they have been named George and Georgina. After 3 days of good care and good food, they have recovered from the shock of being abandoned.

They are well and healthy and together with 20 other puppies in the shelter, will be put up for adoption in the coming adoption drive held in Tropicanal City Mall on 1st July (Sunday) from 10am to 6pm.

Please come with friends or relatives and take these puppies home to give them a home they so deserve!
