PetWorld 2012

Here are some photos taken at the three-day event, PetWorld 2012. This would be the biggest crowd I have ever seen in any pet event in this country!
George and Weiwen opened the booth on Friday at 9am as I was still at work. Luckily they could take leave.
I only got there after lunch and for the first time, I experienced the maddest traffic jam in my entire life. No, it wasn’t traffic jam on the roads. It was traffic jam inside the carpark itself. The cars were NOT moving. I had to shut off the engine and wait in line inside the carpark. It took no less than 1 hour to find any parking bay.
After I finally got into the exhibition area, everyone said, “Didn’t you know that MidValley is like that?” Oops, no, I didn’t know.
So, the next day (Saturday), I got in at 8.30am. Parking was a breeze. The exhibition hall had not even opened yet. Now, this is much better than getting into a traffic jam inside the carpark.
The booth was just a table, so there wasn’t much we could put on it. I had told my mother we wouldn’t be able to sell her kueh so she did not make any for this sales.
Chun Eng, Weiwen and Winnie helped out on Saturday.
Yellow Day.
On Sunday, we had a surprise visit from…Sunshine! That’s Lydia with Sunshine and Joanne with Amber Horsey. Amber Horsey is a tripod whose amputation we subsidised.
Lydia showing a trick that Sunshine can do.
Sunshine will wait until instructions are given before she ate the treats placed on her paws. She can even understand sign language. No words are needed.
We were hoping we might be able to find an adopter who would be interested in taking Sunshine home. No luck so far.
The place was completely thronged with people.
Nandhini helped out on Sunday.
Four pretty girls in a row, wearing our tshirt. It was a case of buy-and-wear. Thank you, girls!
Selva, one of our blog readers, who had come all the way to meet us and purchase our tshirts.
And this is Catherina Tay, also an avid blog reader. We’ve only corresponded by email all this time.
Lots of people came to meet up, many were our blog readers. Thank you all for coming.
Thank you to everyone who supported us by purchasing our tshirts and dog treats.
Thanks to all who dropped by to say hello or give a donation.
Special thanks to Elaine Chan for bringing her home-made dog treats again – we sold out all! The dogs loved the treats as we had people coming back to purchase more. Also, to Linda Lim, for buying cakes for every booth in the NGO area. Linda came with a huge plastic bag of cakes for everyone. Khoo Beng Khai bought drinks for us, knowing we’d be spending the time talking and explaining things to many people. There were also others who brought us things and a lady gave us some petfood which we will be distributing through our Food Fund.
Petster contributed 200kg of petfood to all the 12 participating NGOs.
Thank you, Petster, for the booth as well as the petfood. Once we receive the food, we will be distributing it out through our Food Fund.
Last but not least, a huge thanks to all our volunteers for this round – George, Weiwen, Chun Eng, Winnie and Nandhini.
