Subject: Applying for neutering subsidy and blogging for potential adopter

Dear Kah Yein,

Previously I have applied for the vaccination for a mommy cat and her 2 kittens. Subsequently the mommy cat was neutered and now released back to the community. Its now time to neuter the 2 kittens. I have made an appointment with the vet this coming Thursday to neuter the 2 kittens and would like to apply for subsidy for the neutering. I cant delay the neutering any longer as the kittens are now approximately 4months old. They could be having their first heat anytime. Both kittens have been spending more and more time away from my house now as the mommy cat has been showing them the roof tops of our row of houses. Most of the time they are up there and will come down during feeding time.

I would also appreciate if you are able to blog for me to find any suitable adopters for this family. Preferably someone who would be able to take 3 of them together as they are pretty close to each other. The mother cat has rodent ulcer on her upper lips, as diagnosed by the vet, but she seems fine so far. I understand it is treatable. I am not too knowledgeable about this condition, so the person who is interested would have to learn more about this before adopting. Mommy cat is very very friendly and loves head butting your leg and hand when you start to pet her. She is very very friendly.

The black kitten has a I dont mind who you are as long as i am being fed and I really love food kind of character. She would follow you up and down if you are holding the kibbles and rub against your leg and miaows loudly to let you know she wants her food. In my opinion, she is easier to pacify and would most probably be a lap cat later on if showered with much love and attention.

As for the calico (tri-coloured) kitten, shes very very cautious of human beings and would never come close to me though I have been feeding them for the past 1 months. She has never head butt me before and never lets me carry. I tried twice and I got scratched and bitten. She would be the one the adopter has to work on the most and I cant guarantee that she will warm up to you as not all cats likes to be cuddled. Some just want us to leave them alone.

The adopter would also have to place the cats in the house instead of letting them out to roam the streets. They would have to be housecats, else there isnt any different if I were to release them back to their existing environment now. I want to be frank to the potential adopters up front so that I hope to avoid any abandonment later on or mistreatment. Potential adopters are very much welcome to visit the cats to see for themselves as many times as they want and warm up to them. I would rather we have more work done at the beginning before the adoption rather than regretting later on. I know I might be asking a lot, but I believe that having a pet is a long term commitment, and a great sense of responsibility together with a loving home are very crucial factors. Those who are interested may call me at 012-2282623 to get to know each other better. Below are some current pictures to show.

Picture 1 : The new found playground on top of the roof houses for the 2 kittens

Picture 2 : Jumping from roofs to awnings and later on to the ground for makan-makan. They would scale the side of the wall on their way down

Picture 3 : Heres the calico kitten at the edge of the awning. Thats what we call living on the edge

Picture 4 : Heres mommy and calico. Mommy is the great guru of rooftops

Picture 5 : Mommy cat miaowing for food. You can see that her lips are curved up because of the rodent ulcer condition. She struggles a little with the funny triangle shape of the kibbles I give her because of the shape of her lips. She may not look very cute and pretty, but I assure you she is most friendly and manja.

Picture 6 : Calico-feisty kitten sitting on the bowl watching the fishes swimming. I have not seen her catching the fishes, she only plays with the floating greens and chews on it. I just hope the leaves are not poisonous

Picture 7 : Black kitten peeing on my grass. Surprisingly their pee do not make my grass turn yellow, unlike dogs pee

Thank you.

Regards,

Wong Yoke Mei
