Dear Dr Chan,
I hope you still remember me.. I want to tell you that till today Fang’s condition is still not improved and yet worsen after last injections and medications.. The chronologies of his treatments are : 1 ) 4 injections for flu, phleghm and vitamins and 7 days medications rm170 at danau kota vet ( subsidize by My Animal Care- tqvm) * Fang’s condition improved a little, he can breath normally , flu and sneezing still present*, 2) an antibiotic injections and medications (rm20) * Fang’s sneezing stop, but because of the vet closed at 6pm we are unable to bring him for his next visit. He still have eye discharged and appearance of early mite.lices/ tick attack on his ears, face .*,
3) injection for his lices/tick/mites ,antibiotics and vitamins and 1 week meds at Seri Kembangan Vet * his lice problem ended but he started sneezing again, Fang’s also appear weak ( rm 89) 4) we continue his treatment at Seri Kembangan as they are open until 10 pm. 4) Last treatment was 1injection for his flu and medications for flu ( higher dosage) and eye ointment ( Rm 95 ,done 25th May 12 )
* I hope that My Animal Care will subsidize Fang’s 3rd and 4th treatment .The doctor put all the bills on 1 resit total up sum for rm 144.
* We can’t bring him for hisvaccinationsuntil he recovered from his flu. The vet said that Fang’s no longer have fever but his flu is still has not yet recovered and this is our main concern because after last medications his conditions are the worse. He’s still eating , drinking and still peeing and poo, started sneezing again, doesn’t mew so much, he’s not the energetic alpha cat but now he barely move unless to eat, drink and doing hisbusinesswhich worries us .
* Fang has been sick since from the day we adopted him from a Pusat Jagaan Kucing’s Free Cat For Adoption Booth ( 29th March 12).I went there few times , asking for explanations from the staffs there about their received donations for their cat’s vaccinations of Rm 50 per cat and also if I’m not mistaken also for neutering and spay . I asked them why my cat does not vaccinated before put up for adoption, their answer was that ” there’s too many cat , sick cats, and their budget wasn’t enough. Some cats have to go so that the new cats can have place to stay”.. Note that I went there every week to ask them about this, it wasn’t just because of Fang , the doctor said that if Fang’s have this viral from that shelter, probably that the cat’s from the shelter are infected too, and yes from my untrained eyes for once I saw that the seems to be healthier energetic cats were displayed in the cagein frontwhere else the sick- appearance cats were in a cage a bit far inside. It really breaks my heart , if what I’m dealing with Fang’s are experienced by other adopters if they adopt an unhealthy viral carrier cat. Fang’s was displayed in front of the booth that time, and he doesn’t have any sign of being sick ( large shining eyes , not sneezing, free from mange, – this is from the eye of a first timer who definitely have no experience handling indoor cats) and he’s sick till now..
* I’ve posted a comment on Pusat Jagaan Kucing Fb page about Fang’s being sick , and adopted from their booth.. The deleted my post ..
* I saw thatRetroMAD1 works well with FIV+ cats , and Dr. Chan have mentioned this to me on last e-mail, may I know which vet provide this treatment around KL and the treatment cost?. Fang hasn’t yet been diagnosed of FIV+ , and the vet that I went doesn’t do the FIV test..
* I’m thanking you for your blog because I gained a lot of information from it and also for your subsidy..
Thank you very much for spending your time reading my mail.
Nurul Firdaus A.R.
I gave Nurul my vet’s contact details in case she wished to seek another opinion.

Subject: GOOD NEWS !!!!!!! : Alhamdulillah…. Fang is negative for both FIV and FeLV….
To: Chan Kah Yein <chankahyein@gmail.com>
Dear Dr Chan,
GOOD NEWS!!!!!!! : Alhamdulillah…. Fang is negative for both FIV and FeLV….
These are findings/results from the vet ..
I wasn’t present so these are based on informations I received from my father..
Fang’s age : 8~9 years old, based on Fang’s teeth anatomies that are a bit misalign caused by long chewing habit ( It means , that kind of misalignment or ( senget) wasn’t formed in a short time period.). This news proved that our guess that Fang’s is not 1 year old++ as told by previous 2 Dr’s. is true.
Teeth and gums: missing 2 lower teeth ( anterior), gums are healthy only a slight pinkish appearance. Need to observe gums condition periodically..
Fur and skin : Ok.
Ear : not checked, but there are lot of ear wax on one ear ( noted for next visit).
MAIN CONCERN FOR NOW:
1)Kidney condition:after palpation his one kidney seems to swell a bit. Dr has tried to press his bladder but it’s empty so Dr asked us to try to take his urine sample and then keep it frozen and send for urine test .
* Do you have any tips on how to do this , the easiest way?*
2)Nose: minor swelling, can be seen from sideway. Probably caused by virus ( mold like virus?) and contagious to human .
3)Lung :wheezing sound from lung, lung fills with phlegms, even thought Fang was given medication for his phlegms from previous vets but the medications was only for temporary and not completely removed the phlegms.
* we need to send Fang’s urine sample first, then if Fang’s kidney is free from any medical problem , steroid can be given to Fang as one of his treatment plans. *
The bill for today is Rm 150… Rm 120 for both test, and Rm 30 for consultation..
* Overall, my father is very happy with the vet because he said she’s the only vet who takes time to check Fang’s condition thoroughly and giving options for his treatments, not just simply touch , prescribe medicines and discharge with bills as what we experienced before.. Thank you for suggesting Healing Room.. Fang just finished his home boiled Ikan kembung . He’s eating and now resting on his favourite spot.
Regards,
Nurul Firdaus A.R
I’ve been told that one way to collect the urine sample is to use paper in the litter-tray and to transfer the urine as soon as possible into a bottle using a syringe. We hope Fang will get well soon. He deserves to be well, or at least, given all the help that he needs.
Bless Nurul and her family, for taking care of Fang.
We will help with the medical bills since Fang is newly adopted (within 6 months for adults).
