Baby Mayo Is In Rainbow Bridge (from Bernice Chee)

This is sad and shocking, but it has already happened, so we ask for everyone’s sympathy and empathy. Please be restrained in your comments, if any. It helps also to remind ourselves that we too make mistakes and we do slip up once in a while.

Baby Mayo had a good life, short but sweet and filled with lots of love.

From Bernice:

Hi Dr. Chan,

It is with a very heavy heart and with tears still flowing for both myself and Don that we are informing you of Baby Mayo’s passing. The circumstances which lead to his passing is really unfortunate and sad. One of the stray dog that we feed managed to slide open our grill door which was not locked (but was pulled shut), came into the house, went to Baby Mayo’s box and took him. Don was not home and i was out walking the cats. When i came back, Baby Mayo was lying lifeless on my front yard

We are really saddened by his passing as we have grown really fond of him and have already decided to continue to foster him for more than the initial 1 month agreement (If the vet was in agreement) until we manage to find him a good home. Of course now, everything has been decided for us. He is gone, and we’re both still in shock.

We have wrapped him up, said prayers, shared merits and bade him farewell. Don has given him a proper burial behind our house, and he’s there now together with a birdie and two of my guinea piggies. He may have had a short life with us, but he was loved, pampered and now very sorely missed.

I will inform the vet of Baby Mayo’s passing as well.

Baby Mayo was left at the vet’s and we were requested to help find him a fosterer.�We thank Bernice and Donovan for offering to foster Baby Mayo when no one else did. �Baby Mayo had a very good life and now he is on Rainbow Bridge or in the good place where all animals go to when they depart from this earth.
