An Update On I-Ya...

I-Ya was rescued when a Soi Dog supporter made an urgent call to the shelter reporting I-Ya and another young pup who had been savagely clubbed.

When found I-Ya’s wounds were crawling with maggots. Unfortunately I-Ya’s eye will have to be removed. I-Ya will stay at Soi Dog until such time as adopted.

Reggie, Soi Dog’s Shelter Manager spent Saturday with I-Ya and reports: “I- Ya is now recovering and hopefully blood chemistry results allow us to send her to have the damaged eye removed so the skin/hole can be closed. The wound on the head is also healing well. As you can see on the picture it has sunk a great deal and scabed over.

I visited her this morning and she was wagging her tail looking relaxed and a lot more comfortable in her kennel compared to previous days. She is in the right way to full recovery”

The time, energy and money involved in saving one dog like I-Ya underscores the importance of Soi Dog’s Dog Sponsorship Program. Please consider becoming a sponsorship member today by sponsoring I-Ya or one of the many hundred dogs at Soi Dog so that the work of saving even more animals can continue.
