Closure To The Multiple Claim Case

Last week we encountered a case where a certain rescuer admitted to doing a multiple claim on her cases (from two other organisations and from us) but she had failed to disclose the multiple claims on the forms submitted to us.

As explained in an earlier post, these multiple claims could have been avoided if all organisations insist on the original receipts and retain these receipts, which is our practice. This would prevent another claim to be made for the same cases.

In our subsequent communication with the rescuer, she offered, on her own, to return to us, a portion of the claims she had received from us. This offer was made on her own and we did not ask for it.

Until today, let it be put on record that we have not received any return of the paid claims (in full or a portion of it) from her.

This case is now closed.

We urge all applicants to read our subsidy policies carefully (http://myanimalcare.org/subsidy/) before applying for any subsidy and to disclose all information truthfully on the form(s) so that no such untoward and unpleasant incident will occur again.

Let us collectively work together and make all positive efforts towards preserving the integrity and credibility of animal charity in our country by each of us doing our work with honesty and a clear conscience.

We owe this to the animals.
