A Nice Little Boot For Sunshine!

As you know, Sunshine is AnimalCare’s rescue case (and probably the last one since we have no shelter or fosterer to place rescued animals in). We have still been unable to find a home for Sunshine, so until that happens, we will continue sponsoring Sunshine’s physical and medical needs as much as we can. What Lydia does for Sunshine is something no money can buy, so we can only offer our utmost gratitude to Lydia for it.

I have offered to give a small modest subsidy for Sunshine’s food on a monthly basis, but Lydia did not want to accept. After much insistence, we are thankful Lydia is willing to accept a small token of RM50 a month, to at least cover for food until Sunshine finds a home.

For medical needs, it is still full sponsorship on our part.

This is the very least we can do.

Here are updates from Lydia regarding our chirpy little girl:

Sunshine’s foot only needs basic stuff like antibiotic cream and bandages which I already have on hand so not to worry about the reimbursement. I did however have to buy her a pair of boots to protect her healing foot. Unfortunately I have thrown away the receipt as I did not think to ask for reimbursement from Animal Care. It cost RM18.80 but ino worries I’m happy to pay for it.
I had to put the e-collar on Sunshine as we’ve been managing to keep her foot bandaged until the end of the day when she’s tired out and just lazing around when she then turns her attention to ripping off the bandages and her wound gets dirtied. And once when she had ripped off the bandage and was running around the driveway, which is quite rough, her wound got abraded and slowed down the healing. So she has the e-collar on to prevent her from messing with her wound and the boot on to protect her foot from any more damage as it is a little raw. After a day of getting her collar caught in everything, she’s now back to her usual routine in the garden and too busy to notice it any more. She’s really quick to adjust and get over any adjustment with hardly any fussing.
Thank you I will accept the happily shared responsibility of Animal Care of RM50 for Sunshine’s food. That’s really adequate as we are also happy to chip in for whatever else she needs.

Doggie in a boot!

We have reimbursed Lydia for the boot (Rm18.80) and provided a modest RM50 subsidy for food from our Food Fund.

Thank you, Lydia.

Meanwhile, Sunshine is up for adoption and we would appreciate everyone’s help to help find her a loving home. Lydia prefers a family and a home for Sunshine to go to since there is a need to check on that hind paw which occasionally gets abrasions.

For the record, we are also providing food sponsorship for four dogs under Meiji (Russell, Jackie, Doby and Sweetie) and one dog under Uncle (Karuna, who became our rescue case, under unavoidable circumstances which you can read from previous blog posts). Food sponsorship is also given to Super, the Shah Alam cat now looked after by Maslinda. Maxie, Jamie and Sunny have since been adopted. For all these AnimalCare sponsored animals, we also cover their medical expenses in full.
