Dear Dr. Chan ,
Good Afternoon.
These 2 females dogs were found in Tongkang Pecah, Batu Pahat last
week. We are going to spay them this week and then help them to find
new home or Tuan Sejati.
Therefore, we need to apply the subsidy for their spaying cost.
In fact, we called ourselves as “Kempen Akti Cari Tuan Sejati
????? or Adopt & Carry Them Safe Campaign”. Our short form
as “ACTS”
We always help to neuter the street dog/cat, then help them to find
new home or Tuan Sejati.
We are not a registered organization. Therefore, we have to pay all
the expenses on our own. Until today, we have neuter, medical treat or
find new Tuan Sejati for 54 dogs & 27 cats since March 2011. In
another word, we helped about 6 dogs/cats per month. Each cases cost
us average RM150- RM200.
There are about 3- 4 “coworker” among us. Mr. Lee Wei Tah is one of
us. We all are independent individual but help each other.
The cases need help forwarded to us keep increase currently.
Previously, only about 2-3 cases per month we have to take care.
Therefore, your kindness in allowing us apply the subsidy is very much
appreciated. Your subsidy to us may reduce our burden financially and
will be very useful.
With my appreciation

We have, right from 3 years back when AnimalCare first started, encouraged animal-lovers to start small groups of their own and they are most welcome to copy our model to get started. We also pledged to help these small groups with subsidies to get them started, but as soon as they can get 7 reliable members, it is already possible to register the group as a society and function independently.
After all, that’s how I started too. And a group doesn’t necessarily have to grow. Sometimes, keeping it small and manageable (like AnimalCare is) is easier and more hassle-free. The “trick” (if it can be called that) is to only do as much as we can and most importantly, to have no debts and liabilities. For example, I pay out all claims within the same day. Our tshirt consignments are also paid up immediately. No debts. I can sleep easy.
I have already recommended this path to Angie Ng since she has 4 committed fellow “co-workers” and a very committed leader, Mr Lee Wei Tah (http://myanimalcare.org/2012/04/30/subsidy-for-spaying-of-female-dog-in-batu-pahat-lee-wei-tahs/). And I’m impressed with their rehoming rate!
Angie says she will certainly consider this idea, but would need help for about a year first. Furthermore, according to Angie, awareness and generosity is lacking in her area, so fundraising may be difficult.
Well, awareness has to start somewhere, so I’m sure Angie and her friends’ work is a good start to plant the seeds in Batu Pahat.
Little by little is the water jug filled. We just have to start filling it, drop by drop.
We will help ACTS in their mission, and hopefully, they can be on their own two feet as a society later, and we can continue helping the individuals who are really needy and help other small groups to start up.
Angie sent these photos of the two dogs, by post:
