The puppies are now old enough to be adopted. An adopter has been found for 3 of the puppies so Edward needs to find adopters for 3 more. �The mother-dog also needs to be adopted. She has lost her right rear paw.

We are really hoping that someone would be willing to take the mother-dog and at least one puppy so that the mother-dog will not miss her puppies too much. However, we know this is not easy as getting all adopted is difficult enough.

A last option for Edward for the mother-dog is to surrender her to PAWS in the Sponsor-A-Pet Programme where for RM150 a month, the animal gets to live on at the shelter, under certain conditions. Recently, one of our readers had a big canine territorial problem in her house. Her adopted local dog could not get along with her existing dogs and vicious fights occurred daily resulting in injuries. She finally surrendered the territorial dog to PAWS under the S-A-P Programme and the dog is doing well.

When all other options fail, which they sometimes do, this may be a viable option for some. However, please find out about the programme before making a decision.
