Meant To Be Free (Tinsel Escapes, Over A 9-Foot Wall!)

Tinsel’s story started on the day Terry’s friend rescued him 3 years ago, from behind the tyre of a reversing car. He was then a tiny little kitten. From Terry, he went to three different homes, and finally, Tinsel came back to Terry.

But Terry could not adopt Tinsel as his brother is allergic to cats and Terry travels in his work, so Terry was contemplating releasing Tinsel in his neighbourhood so that he lives as a community cat.

I asked DT if Tinsel could live with her cats since she has space and has a very safe cat colony. DT agreed immediately, and Terry brought Tinsel to DT’s place.

Sometime last week, DT texted to say Tinsel had scaled her 9-foot cat-proofed wall and climbed over the cat-fence (something like my Pole-proofed cat-fence, slanted at 45 degrees with the inverted “tick”) and escaped.

Tinsel was spotted (he did not go far), so DT and her caretaker put out the trap. But instead of catching Tinsel, other village cats got trapped!

The most delicious cat-food has failed to lure the elusive Tinsel back.

Tinsel has been spotted a few times and food and water are laid out for him daily.

Guess Tinsel was meant to be free.

DT’s place is a very green and safe place, away from traffic and other human-inflicted dangers, so we are comforted that Tinsel would be safe.

Born to be free or meant to be free, we won’t know.

Tinsel decides.

We thank DT and her caretaker for all their efforts.

Have a great life in the green and healthy surroundings, Tinsel.
