On 24 April 2024, little Aslan arrived at the SPCA when he was just 4 months old. This sweet boy had been hit by a delivery van, leaving him with a femoral head (hip joint) fracture in his left hindlimb, fractured digits, and painful infected wounds on his pelvic region and both hindlimbs.
Our clinic team promptly began Aslan’s intensive treatment: He was placed on antibiotics to combat infection, and his wounds tended to daily — bandaged with manuka honey or managed meticulously in areas that cannot be covered.
While under the care of his fosterer, Aslan showed just how resilient and loving he is. His fosterer described him as one of the sweetest boys they had ever met, despite his traumatic experience and ongoing recovery.
Aslan’s journey is testament to how accessible and timely veterinary care can transform lives. There are so many more like Aslan who rely on the SPCA’s Community Animal Clinic to give them a second chance at life. Help us help more animals; Your donation can bring healing and hope to countless animals in their hour of need.
