🌊🐬 Daisy’s Big Day Was a Splashing Success! 🐬🌊

On 11 December 2024, we celebrated the launch of Daisy the Dolphin’s Big Adventure, a heartfelt project by Ghayathri a/p Ravintharan, one of the Top 5 finalists of our Suara Bumi programme! 🌏✨

Through this beautiful story, Ghayathri has raised awareness about the endangered Irrawaddy Dolphins and why Perak’s waters are vital for their survival.

This book essentially aims to educate the readers on:

🐬 The dangers facing dolphins, from ocean pollution to habitat loss

🌟 The importance of protecting marine life

🌿 Sustainable practices to safeguard our ecosystems

By viewing the world through Daisy’s eyes, children connected emotionally with marine life, fostering empathy and a deeper sense of responsibility for wildlife.

Additonally, MareCet, a marine research and conservation NGO visited Sekolah Kebangsaan Raja Perempuan Ipoh Perak to showcase their Whales on the Wheels, a part of their mobile marine education nationwide tour. Through this visit, the students get to raise their awareness on mammals and empathy for marine life and promote conservation. 💙

“Suara Bumi” is a collaboration between Persatuan Pandu Puteri Malaysia (Girl Guides Association Malaysia) (Pandu Puteri Malaysia Cawangan Perak) and Roots & Shoots Malaysia, which has harnessed the passion of youths to become Ambassadors for local biodiversity through awareness campaigns and action-based solutions.

This book launch was a success, thanks to the support of Yayasan Hasanah and Kementerian Kewangan, in collaboration with The Habitat Foundation

Also, a big thank you to Dr. Punitha, Dr. Agkillah Maniam and everyone who supported this initiative and joined us in making waves for conservation! 🌊🐋
