Team TCS went on a river patrol today and guess what we found? 🫢

We sighted not one, but two river terrapins surfacing for air! 🐢 River terrapins in Terengganu typically begin nesting in mid-January and the nesting duration lasts approximately 2.5 to 3 months.

During the nesting season, our Terrapins Guardians will work from dusk to dawn to collect the eggs and incubate them in a hatchery.

We’ll go back to the river tomorrow with our drone, and hopefully get better photos and videos! 💪🏻

Our river surveys are supported by a research grant from the Asian Species Action Partnership @iucn_asap.
