THE SPCA’S 2024 ANIMAL CRUELTY AND WELFARE REPORT

In 2024, of the 1,109 reports that the SPCA received and investigated, there were 961 confirmed cases of cruelty and welfare, involving a total of 2,190 animal victims. This is the highest number of cases recorded in 12 years.

That’s an average of five animals suffering or losing their lives every day. Tragically, many more never make it into these statistics, as their suffering goes unnoticed, unreported, and many of them do not survive long enough to be rescued.

Our animal victims are blameless, voiceless, and defenceless.
