Sometimes We Need Closure

Jay wrote yesterday to say he has finally found out what happened to Ozee:

Found out from one of my neighbours. It’s most unfortunate that Ozee was run over by a motorcycle late one night about a month ago. Apparently the rider was trying to avoid a car, and so hit my cat. The neighbour came out because of the noise of the rider being thrown off his bike, and buried Ozee in his front garden. It explained why he never came home. It’s pretty heartbreaking to know I’ll never see my boy again, but at least someone had the decency to give him a proper burial and final resting place.
Just wanted to say thank you again for your help and support. It helped me at least come to terms with his loss.
We express our deepest condolences to Jay for the loss of Ozee. We believe all animals go to a good place after they have finished their tour on Earth. Maybe they are our guardian angels now or they are having a wonderful time on Rainbow Bridge.

Lifespan, I’m told, is determined at birth. It is a “secret” held by the Universe and not revealed to us. We, as humans, must understand this, and thus, do our duty on Earth – to do good to others and leave this Earth a better place than it was before.

Animals may not have privy to this knowledge, but then again, maybe they do. In the course of living their lives, some do so instinctively, some come into our lives and give us great joy and happiness. Some even do “good deeds”, as evidenced by the many stories of what our pets do. But what is special about animals is that they do not do things with evil intentions, unlike humans.

So, they will go to a good place upon their demise.

Be happy where you are now, Ozee. Have a happy life.
