The Fourth Malaysian Environmental Education Conference (MyEEConference) 2024, held from 14 to 16 October at the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) in Sepilok, Sabah, brought together 160 participants from government agencies, NGOs, the private sector, higher learning institutions, and schools to advance environmental education in Malaysia.

Organised by the Sabah Forestry Department, in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Department, Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC), Jabatan Alam Sekitar, Sabah Wildlife Department, Sabah Environmental Education Network, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Sabah and WWF-Malaysia, the conference provided an essential platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in promoting environmental education.

WWF-Malaysia is honoured to be given the opportunity to co-chair the plenary session on ‘Environmental Education for Conservation Awareness’, moderate the workshop on advancing environmental education and supporting education policy in Malaysia, present on youth engagement for conservation awareness and behaviour change, as well as host an interactive exhibition showcasing our key initiatives.

We remain deeply committed to working alongside our partners in promoting environmental awareness and education, and look forward to continuing our joint efforts to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature.
