When You Cant Wait For Your New Rescue Dog To Arri..

When you can’t wait for your new rescue dog to arrive… so you fly halfway around the world to collect him! ✈️❤️

This is the story of Thai street dog Nuntakorn and his committed Dutch adopters Annerieke and Rien, in their words:

🕊️ “Our dog, Senna, passed away in February. Although we knew we couldn’t replace her, we were aware that many dogs in the world desperately needed a warm home and a loving family.

Nuntakorn was one of the first dogs we saw on the Soi Dog website, and we were instantly captivated. His beautiful eyes and the description beneath had us hooked. Nuntakorn was the one. No doubts.

📅 Initially, we weren’t able to welcome Nuntakorn until January 2025, as we were busy with work and had already planned a holiday. But with each passing day, the waiting became harder.

So we cancelled the holiday, arranged for more remote work, and, since there was a shortage of flight volunteers from Bangkok to Amsterdam, Annerieke went to Bangkok herself to bring Nuntakorn home in the first week of August.

🇳🇱 We decided to give Nuntakorn a Dutch name, Kobus, after the affectionate nickname that Rien’s late father used for any animal he found endearing.

The first few weeks were challenging as Kobus was afraid of men. Rien had to keep his distance, be patient, and slowly earn Kobus’s trust. But every day, we saw progress. Over time, Kobus began to trust both of us. He now enjoys being petted and rolls over for belly rubs.

🌳 Annerieke has become his playmate on walks. He goes wild in the grass, doing somersaults like a real circus artist! We take him on walks as often as possible, and afterward, he is always completely relaxed.

It’s a joy to watch him slowly but surely shake off his fears and grow more comfortable in his new environment. Kobus is a wonderful dog, a true sweetheart. It’s a privilege to have him in our lives.”
