🌟 “Hi, my name is Blackie and I’m so ready for your scratches!”

Blackie’s story is a bittersweet one. He came to the SPCA in July 2024 after his owner passed away, and sadly, there was no one left to care for him. But even with everything he’s been through, Blackie remains the affectionate, loving dog he has always been. He is a little older now, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying his walks and taking in the world around him with curiosity.

Blackie is always excited to meet new doggy pals, but he has had some tough experiences, so he needs slow, gentle introductions to make sure everyone gets along. He came to us with a hematoma on his left ear, likely from an untreated infection, and you’ll also notice some scarring around his neck, a reminder of his past where he may have been on a choke chain.

Despite these visible signs of hardship, Blackie’s spirit is bright, and he’s just waiting for someone who can give him the love and care he’s been missing.
