Look At Putin Now, An FIP Warrior Treated With Molnupiravir
Tweet |
It was sometime in August 2023 that my friend rescued Putin, a very skinny and sickly-looking street cat, diagnosed with dry FIP. My friend’s vet recommended Molnupiravir, a medicine from India, used for Covid-19 in humans. My friend also could not afford the expensive GS-441524 treatment at the time.
So, Putin was on Molnupiravir, an oral drug, very affordably-priced, which my friend purchased from Taobao. He was also prescribed Himalaya’s Biopure as a liver protectant, Himalaya’s Neftrotec for kidney stones, Methycobal for nerves and Haemomaxx for improve his blood PCV.
Putin made very significant progress. Take a look at him now! I was at my friend’s shop this morning and this very prosperous-looking cat sauntered past. I couldn’t believe it was Putin!!
He’s actually quite overweight now and needs to lose some weight! But he’s doing very well on two types of RC kibble (Urinary S/O and Fiber Response). Putin is now 6.3kg. Previously, he was only 3kg. Every day, my friend takes Putin to work at her shop and brings him home with her. He’s happy being a shop-cat!
Before-After
This is the medication. At least rescuers now have a choice of a more affordable medicine for FIP. And it’s also an oral drug, which spares the cat from the painful acidic injection of the GS-441524.
Looking so, so good, Putin!! Brave FIP warrior!
